NO Gym? NO Problem! Why I LOVE to Hike.

Earlier in the week, I posted my everyday workout routine for the gym. But if there is one thing that we all know, routines can get boring.
I am lucky enough to live deep within the Appalachian Mountains and just fifteen minutes from the Blue Ridge Parkway. The Blue Ridge Parkway is a National Parkway and All-American Road in the United States, noted for the scenic beauty that stretches from North Carolina to Virginia. Because of its unique location, there are tons of beautiful trails and hiking paths at nearly every turn off. On pretty days like today, I trade in my tennis shoes for my hiking boots and make my way down the parkway.
My favorite place to go to on the parkway would have to be Julian Price Memorial Park. This park is situated just near Grandfather Mountain and has two main trails, both of which showcase the natural environment of this area. The Boone Fork trail is a five mile loop that will eventually lead to a small waterfall and beach area! I love to hike to this spot and lay out a towel to catch some sun, and cool off in the water after. Both of these trails though are very flat and easy to complete, making it perfect for any age or size.

Hiking is one of my favorite forms of fitness for the most obvious reason, the views! Whether or not you’re a fan of inclination, the beauty found at the end of the trail is equivalent to the pot of gold at the end of a rainbow. It is also a very social activity and allows for interactiveness with the land.
Thank you for reading my FOURTH post! Until next time…
